Voices Wake Us

Voices Wake Us is a short science fiction film I completed while a masters student at Baylor University. Created on a tight schedule with a small crew on a budget of a couple hundred dollars, it challenged us to make the most of limited resources. The film was a valuable experience in telling an engaging visual story while stripping it down to its essential components.

Working with cinematographer and fellow director Aaron Youngblood, I wrote, co-produced, and directed the film. I also served as the film’s composer and visual effects artist.

The film went on to win Best Film and Audience Choice at the 2013 Black Glasses Film Festival, and screened in the Dallas International and Seattle True Independent film festivals.
